This pendant is made from Ash driftwood from Cornwall in the United Kingdom. It is one of our lighter coloured pendants and the grain of the ash wood shows up beautifully. 

 

Ash timber is renoun for its flexibility and strength has made it indispensable to tool makers, cooks, sportsmen and hunters.The Ash tree was thought to have medicinal and mystical properties and the wood was burned to ward off evil spirits. In Norse Viking mythology, Ash was referred to as the 'Tree of Life'. Even today it is sometimes known as the 'Venus of the woods'. In Britain Ash is regarded as a healing tree.
